If they ever release the strike video, we'll know. I can't imagine that FOX was playing that video and saying it was of the Saddam strike. How soon after the strike did Andrea Mitchell's story break?

Why couldn't this have been on Friday or Saturday? I have to get up a 3. Arrrgh!!!!I feel your pain! I get up at three four times a week. I remember having to go to bed on election 2002 and didnt know who won here in MO until I got up. I left my computer on and when I got up and refreshed it, the MSNBC headline said GOP regains Senate.

Did you get a load of this song spoof posted by FReeper Matt Garrett. Check out verse 2--rather prophetic...I hope:
Chem Ali
(sung to the tune "PRINCE ALI" from Disney's Aladdin)
Make way for Chem Ali
Say hey! It's Chem Ali
Hey! Clear the way in the old Bazaar
Hey you!
Let us through!
It's the American Star!
Oh Come!
Be the first on your block to pluck his eye!
Make way!
Here he comes!
Ring bells! Bang the drums!
Are you gonna love this guy!
Chem Ali! Stone cold is he!
Ali Ababwa
He's in hell, We all can tell
It's easy to see
Now, try your best to stay calm
Who's next? Why yes, it's Sadaam
Then come and see his bombed out coterie
Chem Ali!
defunct is he!
Ali Ababwa
Dead as ten Fedeyeen men, definitely!
He watched the plummeting bombs
A hundred cruise missiles along
Who sent him to hell to face his Iraqi leagues?
He's got seventy-two virgins waiting
To give him the finger
you see ...
When it comes to the afterlife in Hades
He's in a zoo?
I'm telling you, it's a world-class menagerie
Chem Ali! Deceased is he, Ali Ababwa
That physique! How can I speak
stiff at the knee
Well, get on out in that place
Put to his fingers and face
To gawk and grovel and stare at Chem Ali!
(There's no question this Ali's breathless
Not animated, he's lifeless
Everything about the man pushing up daisies
He's a corpse, he's inert, he's reposing
He's about to assume room temperature
And I absolutely love the way he dresses!)
Chem Ali!
Extinct he! Ali Ababwa
Heard your Palace was a sight lovely to see
And that, good people, is why
he got blown up and dropped by
With sixty JDAMS, MOABS galore With cruise missiles and more
With his forty fakirs, his cooks, his bakers
His birds that warble on key
Make way for Chem Ali!

How soon after the strike did Andrea Mitchell's story break? A long time. Fox said the bombing was 2PM Baghdad time, which would be 6AM EDT. First announcement was after 9PM EDT, so it was at least 15 hours.

A quick bit of research comes up with the following:
The Jaguar V and Jaguar U are field radio units that were used extensively in the first Gulf War. They are British made. They use a technique called 'frequency hopping spread spectrum' to transmit radio signals. Encryption is built into the system.
The number of potential keys is 10^22, which sounds astronomical but is easily deciphered by our NSA. It's possible the system even has a backdoor or key recovery mechanism that allows us to monitor.
The radio fingerprint of FHSS is very unique. I have intimate knowledge of this technology and while very good, it's not the most difficult to track and identify.
For the very curious: to visualize FHSS, pretend that a television station transmitted one second of a show on channel 1, then one second on channel 2, and so on. To see the show, you would have to change channels exactly in sync for things to make sense. The Jaguar systems do this up to 100 times per second. Then scramble the show in one of 10^22 different ways just to make things gamey. Sounds outrageous but again, this is softball stuff for us to monitor.
Just FYI! It seems like the administration must be pretty darn sure they got him if they're letting a specific piece of intelligence like this out in the open.

I still wonder if he didn't skip long ago, and the sightings were doubles. Everyone seems to look alike or have look-a-likes! I hope they find enough DNA, checked by independent specialists. For the past few days there have been interviews with a couple Iraqi men (exiles) on Fox News Channel who, when asked if the most recent video was actually Saddam, said no, it wasn't, that it was one of his doubles. They went on to say that Saddam had not gone to Tikrit but was in Baghdad hiding out in the home(s) of just "regular" Iraqi families. (Obviously I'm not giving a direct quote, but that's the gist of it.) And now a home of a "regular" Iraqi family gets bombed. Hope it was a smart one and did the job!

Hmmmm? Being first can have it's drawback.
When they found PFC Jessica, everybody disobeyed CentCom and released the information early, EXCEPT FOX.
However, it was FOX (Hannity), who got an EXCLUSIVE interview with the Chairman of the Jt Chiefs of Staff General Myers. And ... it wasn't a 60 sec spot either. I don't know how long he was on, but it was a long segment.
Also, a spokesperson for CentCom made an on-air statement acknowledging FOX's choice to do as CentCom requested. I believe this was the reason FOX was granted the interview with Myers.
