The former No. 2 man of Elf Aquitaine testified Monday that a large part of some $50 million withdrawn from the French oil giant's accounts went toward financing French political parties.

The amount cited by Alfred Sirven was far more than the $5 million that former president Loik Le Floch-Prigent had said went to political parties during his years at the helm, from 1989 to 1993.

NO! It can't be! The French/Chirac supporting the butcher Hussein just because his $$$$$ blood money they got furthered their political power?

This is the way it is ALL OVER THE WORLD, BOYS AND GIRLS! Please stand up and say it somebody on Fox, please!

By the way - can somebody get this to the usual VRWC - Rush, Sean, O'Reilly, Savage, whoever.........

Plus - this needs to be passed along to any liberals we know who continue to claim this war is about oil $$$$ going to America!!!!! (I spoke with one of these just today....it is useless even when you present the facts - but these facts will open a few eyes, perhaps....then, perhaps not).

Howlin - list ping!

"I was alone. I had no financial director," Sirven testified. "So there was some disorder in these accounts."

Sirven conceded that some money went into his own pockets while a large part of the $50 million went to French political parties.

I could only wish this clown had to deal with the American IRS.

Sirven, 76, did not provide details, or explain what happened to the rest of the more than $150 million that allegedly went missing from the coffers of Elf Aquitaine in the early 1990s.

"I was alone. I had no financial director," Sirven testified. "So there was some disorder in these accounts."

The quote in red is unbelievably hilarious. Maybe something untoward happened when Sirven's testimony was being translated from French into English. :-)

If this is how the French handle important things, thank heavens they didn't help us in Iraq!!!
