I agree that these punks need to be dispersed if they are obstructing public movement or the conduct of business, but what happened today is going to lead to some big lawsuits. The way most of the protests have been handled (millions of wasted dollars in police overtime, flexi-cuffing arrestable protesters, not "cracking heads" despite provocation) makes this sort of "direct action" by the cops (LOL!) seem over the top.
I'm not saying that I think it is, but I bet that some grand juries, juries and judges out here in liberal land will be awarding millions to these little protesting darlings in the near future.

Let them sue and the city and Feds should be bringin them up on treason and other charges if they threaten suits.

I'm sure they will try -- however, if you break the law, you pay the price (or should). Let's not forget the stuff they were chunking at the police. Also, the big difference here is that we are at war and their intent was to halt shipments of supplies to troops -- I think that is a little more serious in the eyes of the law. At least if it isn't it sure should be -- that is where our petition and phone calls to Ashcroft will come in -- at least to my way of thinking.
