According to National Review Online, "Last Wednesday, Columbia University assistant professor Nicholas DeGenova told the audience at a faculty-led antiwar teach-in that he wished 'for a million Mogadishus' to visit U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq." According to the Columbia University biography of DeGenova, his teaching focuses on "transnational urban conjunctural spaces that link the U.S. and Latin America as a standpoint of critique from which to interrogate U.S. nationalism, political economy, racialized citizenship, and immigration law." DeGenova has appeared at several open-borders conferences as a panelist and his writing has been highly critical of immigration enforcement. He is also scheduled to speak at a Brecht Forum event April 3. The discussion, titled "The New Internments" focuses on detention of illegal aliens under the NSEERS program. The Brecht Forum says, "In the hysteria that the Bush administration has continued to foment for over a year in its push for the continued militarization of the globe, a gutted constitution, and a ghoulish vision of endless war, immigrants in the U.S. have been ‘disappeared’ and deported at alarming rates."

No doubt about it. I would guess the plan is to keep the borders open, let in alot of likely leftist minded people and folks that the left could buy with welfare, who would then align themselves with the Left and keep the democrats in power well into the future.
This, I believe is what DeGenova wants.

What I find interesting is that such a far-left America-hater like this is so actively working to make our borders as wide open as possible. There is something truely evil a-foot here and a connection should be made between the American-hating left and open-border advocates.
I don't know how many more losses like that we can take. (sarcsm)
We've had a large email campaign going since last week to get De Genova terminated that has reached and and touched the Columbia Alumni, many of whom are up in arms as you can imagine.
Many, many Alumni are writing Columbia telling that they are going to stop donating, take Columbia out of their will, etc. if this man is not fired.
Congree is also going on this. A letter circulated in Congress to the same effect already has over 100congressional reps signing on uring Columbia to let De Genova go. We're hoping the congress critters will drastically reduce federal funding as well.
Keep up the pressure.

I agree with what you you are saying about the motives of the open-border marxist like DeGenova. More attention needs to be given to this threat. I believe there was a bloody civil war here in the USA over the idea of states leaving the union.

Here in Missouri we have just one large leftist collage at Columbia (Ha). Anyway, our state representives have a good habit of cutting funds to the leftist depts at this collage when they get out of line. Maybe New York could cut funding to his dept.
Columbia's President and administration have to learn, IMHO, that when common decency and seditious lines are crossed, the bad consequences reflect back on the university until they excise the problem ... and that is exactly how it should be.

We certainly have alot of useful idiots who go along with this open borders and high immigration policy.
With just about all our manufacturing jobs moved out of the country and millions of recent immigrants who do not want to assimilate and many of them quickly get on welfare, well I just think something has got to give.

I would like to compare this to what John Rocker said. Now, from what I can tell the mainstream/elite media hasn't said a thing about DeGenova while the Rocker story was shouted from the highest mountain. What Rocker said was stupid but what DeGenova said in IMHO was a thousand times worst. He can say what he wants but why isn't the mainstream/elite media digging into his mindset of anti-Americanism and treasonous open-border promotions.
Much of the open border agenda is the destruction of the US and bringing in Socialism. Destroy US sovreignty, make us pay taxes that prop up foreign governments, destroy our elections.
