Last month I learned of children imprisoned
in Baghdad for their parents crimes
Scott Ritter knew, I heard it from him
he said now is not a good time
To talk of that horror he witnessed
it would only encourage the war
His intent was focused on keeping the peace
those children don't count in the score
So that story was locked down as tight as those kids
aged five and up Ritter said
Locked down and away from their parents
what Terror filled those little heads
What dread Hussein caused for those families
how Time must have dripped in their minds
What pain they endured for their Conscience
A conscience too sore to be kind
Some say that it takes a village
to raise up a child who's free
Today I learned those children imprisoned
