Great pic.
The caption for that reads:
An Iraqi girl waves an American flag to U.S. Marines of the15th Expeditionary Unit at the Marines Battalion Combat Operation Center in Nasiriyah, southern Iraq (news - web sites), on Monday, April 7, 2003. (AP Photo/Itsuo Inouye)

I love the picture too.
Now please pray we have secured the area that it was taken in, so that the child may yet live to wave her own flag, along with ours, next year.
The Fayedeen, otherwise known as the PLO, are still out and about over there.

Great news, Meek! Things are looking better and better.

Let's hope and pray that these Fayedeen thugs don't go after the little girl... She needs to live under a free Iraq.

You analysis describes a political battle within France.
The strength of the U.S. and its conservative ranks lies not only in its politics, but in its religious strength as well.
The answer to Islam in Europe in not political. It is in a reawakening of essential religious roots of Europe, that is the faith by which twelve men turned the world upside down.
Something to consider during this season of Lent.

My point is quite simple. The war in Afghanistan was entirely justified because, as you said, Al Quada, attacked us. There can be honest disagreement about whether national defense consideration would justify war with Iraq.
Whether or not, Saddam is a "bad guy" is purely a side issue....at least as a rationale for war. You, on the other hand, seemed to imply (perhaps I did not understand your meaning) in your post that war would be justified, regardless of national defense, to remove Saddam because he is "evil" to his people e.g. humanitarian intervention.
If so, I disagree with this ratinonale. The sole justification for going to war should be national defense which is an entirely different issue.
If I wrongly intepretated the meaning of your earlier post to justify humanitarian "liberation" wars as such, I apologize.
