He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword While that line always gave me chills, the song that has been running though my head lately is a folk version of "Babylon Is Fallen".

Why is Peter Arnett being targeted for treason but Scott Ritter isn't? Where's that snake anyhow? He insisted we would lose...

Could someone please explain all these Daschle "I am deeply saddened" jokes! (Brit here).but brit -- i saw you cover it!
daschle said he was saddened, saddened, that the warmongering bush had flung down and danced upon diplomacy and was launching a coyboyish war against the noble saddam. and he said it about five minutes before the war began. in other words, in any other country in the world, daschle would have stretched a rope by now.

Agreed. Just posting thoughts, not value judgements.
If the US Marines have some spare time after insuring the safety of Baghdad residents who have been under the boot for 20 years, they might take a look around to try to help any Western 'human shields' they can.
Those found should be arrested on the spot for War Crimes and repatriated post haste, to US forces in Guantanamo for de-briefing and trial preparation.

Where in Baghdad is this uprising occurring? Does the fact that Iran has been so prompt to report it mean that is being done by Shiites, possibly in a Shiite part of town, like Saddam City?
To: alnitak
Could someone please explain all these Daschle "I am deeply saddened" jokes! In countless interviews, the Senator is saddened, deeply saddened, disappointed, deeply disappointed, discouraged, deeply discouraged, etc. etc. about most any topic whatsoever. It's a running gag.
He's particularly saddened by news of the President's "miserable failures" at diplomacy, the President's "politicization of the war", and whatnot.
(Brit here).

I agree. The civilians who have had to endure the terror need time to vent. We have no business standing between them and justice. At some point, troops will have to restore order. However, let the people have their vengeance first - not served cold - but hot, bloody and furious!

Why is Peter Arnett being targeted for treason but Scott Ritter isn't? It'll be very interesting to see what Iraqi inte3ligence files have to tell us about both men.
To: lsee
I think they told them this so the ordinary citizen would not be mistaken for a soldier.
But I will tell you, these people are pi$$ed off to kill with their bare hands according to the Iraqi population of Dearborn and Sterling Heights Michigan.
Too many missing and tortured loved ones to shake a stick at.

If this is true, one can only imagine that the HUMAN SHIELDS, misled liberals there in Baghdad, are going to be in great danger of injury or death by the Iraqi people.Headline: SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS, ONE DEAD.
