AS many as six Iraqi divisions barely fired a shot and evaded orders to attack allied forces. Chemical weapons still have not been used, despite Iraqi commanders receiving permission to employ them. Secret bunkers and executive hide-outs have been hit, with more success than the world yet knows.

The Rapist and Hillary! and Trent Lott certainly know the power of secret files!

I was thinking along similar lines. Compare the two groups of files. The 900 FBI files the Clinton administration used to undermine the separation of powers government in United States. For eight years those files were useful but had to be abandoned after the Clinton administration left the White House. The damage done by the Clintons and the illegally obtained FBI files will most probably be minimal compared to the massive benefits that accrue from the Iraq files.

Plus, the Iraq files will be useful beyond White House administration and after today's administration leaves the White House. Thank goodness that Clinton didn't have the stature to capture the Iraq files. Who knows the depths the Clintons would have plunged the United States into. President Bush's strong backbone and the White House administration will strive to make the most of the Iraq files to protect America and the people. ...While also rooting out terrorists, governments that give aid or support to terrorists and dictators that bring harm and destruction to their own people and communities -- basically making the world a safer and freer place to live.

Having President Bush and the current White House administration make use of the Iraq files for another four years is critically important to the protection of United States and the people -- as well as the rest of the world.

"But the information of far greater value will be what we learn about the regime's relationships not only with other rogue states, but with our long-term "allies" in the Arab world and beyond. "

Perhaps even closer to home. I'd be curious to know what might be those files about terrorist acts from New York City to Oklahoma City, to name two.

Up to now, one could only speculate what sort of back-door deals Clinton made that allowed Saddam to stay in power.

Now, we may know.

Ollie North made a brief mention that the Marines command he is assigned to encountered or went past the Salmon Pak (sp?) training center on their drive to Baghdad.

This is the 1st time I've heard anybody mention this terrorist training center since the war started.

PING :
"It has been noted that the French and Russians did not want this war because they knew we would learn how they cheated on U.N. sanctions against Iraq. But the treasure trove of information we will collect on the Arab world and other Islamic states will be much more important. It will enable us to see into previously opaque issues and to squeeze many a corrupt leader who believed he was safe from external scrutiny.

The Iraqi archives will be a mother lode of information for scholars. But there is much we will choose to keep under lock and key for strategic purposes. The psychological effects of our access to those archives and to former regime officials anxious to tell all will be even greater than the practical information we accumulate.

No Arab leader will know what was or wasn't in those files. Each will have to fear the worst. President-for-life X will always have to wonder what we know as we sit across the negotiating table. "

""It has been noted that the French and Russians did not want this war because they knew we would learn how they cheated on U.N. sanctions against Iraq."

HA!!
Are we suppose to believe these two scoundrels were working in some kind of *secrecy*?
Really hard for me to accept our CIA or NSA "didn't know," anything concerning the goings-on about anyone, anywhere, FBD.

Our guys are very good; even, in spite of what the traitorous bastard '92-thru-Y2k did to 'em.

Means one thing, to me.
Just what're they up to.

...by working the "didn't know" angle?

Wow.. you sure you got the newspaper name right?

Seems when Bill O'Reilly did his show on the blatant anti American bias on the front page of the New York Post (and others).. he did some good. Perhaps they DO have a concious?

Nice to see they are attempting to get back on the side of their country!!

The Iraqi regime was a bureaucracy of terror. But it was, above all, a bureaucracy. It kept voluminous files. The secret police, diplomatic and executive archives will hold information on all the region's secret deals, as well as on the private lives and personal corruption of virtually every leader, cabinet member and senior military officer throughout the Middle East.

The Iraqi regime was as organized as the Nazis and had absolute authority and supreme jurisdiction over the government and it's people.
