A DU round for a 75MM chain gun would be MUCH cheaper than any guided HEAT munition the USAF would offer up. An old Viet Nam-era 500lb iron bomb might be cheaper...

One of the embeddeds showed a couple of coalition guys examining a turret that had popped off a destroyed Iraqi tank. You could see several clean holes drilled in it about the size of a quarter. It probably looks like the fourth of July inside the tank when those rounds come in and that depleted uranium burns.
