One of the embeddeds showed a couple of coalition guys examining a turret that had popped off a destroyed Iraqi tank. You could see several clean holes drilled in it about the size of a quarter. The slug came out of the other side. The reason why the turret blew off is because of the overpressure created by the force of the kinetic energy round. The initial spauling of the inside of the tank killed the crew first (5000 fps of hot metal bouncing around) then the round came in and exited. out the other side.
