Nothing earth-shattering here, but I just wanted to share the joy!

Great report.
Progress is coming a bit slower on the homefront than it has in the deserts of Iraq, but the signs are unmistakable.

Dr. Phil said a couple of times that he didnt know enough about the war or the politics involved to have an opinion. I found his humility refreshingPersonally, I find his statements cowardly. His failure to take a stand is a bottom line decision.

One of the unintended benefits of the war has been that the left has been exposed in all its moral, ethical, intellectual and philosophical bankruptcy. They're out in the open, the "Elite Democratic Guard", and they will be destroyed. There are already signs of them dropping their weapons and running...

I simply cannot understand why anyone would think that the innocent citizens of Iraq ought not be freed from this madman.
We went to Bosnia, Kosovo, Somalia, and Haiti.
To our everlasting shame we ignored the gathering storm in Rwanda.

At the end when Dr. Phil gives his commentary and goodbye, he said he supports the troops 100%. The audience clapped loudly. The camera was on these nuts with the pink buttons and they were NOT clapping, but sat with their mouths open. I wonder why they didn't clap? They said they support the troops didn't they?
I believe "support the troops" are mere words and they use them, but don't believe them. It was quite clear when they wouldn't clap or show support.

As it happens, this was the first Dr. Phil Show I had ever seen. I had never even heard of the show before then. I remarked to my wife......"at least this talk show host is on the right side."
To: SeenTheLight
I was happy to see someone with a big mouth and a big television audience take on those anti-war protestors. He was passionate in his support of the troops; and the contrast between him and that Medea, who came across as a brainwashed robot, was great. She constantly repeated the same rehearsed answers to his questions, without changing her facial expression. What a wacko.

I saw part of it. He sounded like a shrink trying to talk someone in off of a ledge.

It was an excellent show. I was just telling someone all about it. Your summary of the show is fantastic. Thanks!

First of all, you are too young to use the phrase "the straight dope"! tee hee!
Second, I cannot believe someone would name themselves after one of the most horrendous women in myth or history: Medea, who killed her children to spite her unfaithful husband! What a sick soul she must have!
Third, I am starting to see anti's with flags and yellow ribbons out on the street protests... I guess they weren't getting enough honks, so they have to trick people into thinking they're honking for a pro-American out there! I've a good mind to confront them. How dare they co-opt these symbols? If you are FOR your country, you know it is right to defend her! If you are FOR the troops, you want them to come home safely AFTER their mission is done! Otherwise you are undercutting them -- and their sacrifice will be in vain.
(Besides it wouldn't be good for their self-esteeeeeem! Maybe the pinkos would respond to THAT! hah!)

An excellent piece of reporting. Not only did you suffer through watching this program, which most of us probably wouldn't have watched, but you captured the play-by-play in wonderful detail. This detail,
"You could just imagine Benjamin making a mental note to approach this potential convert after the show", is the kind of thing I myself would notice.
So thank you. Maybe I'll even tune in to one of his shows sometime.

"Dr. Phil said a couple of times that he didnt know enough about the war or the politics involved to have an opinion. I found his humility refreshing, considering that hes a talk show host, and I only wish other celebrities would follow suit."
Aw come on. Ole Dr. Phil has an "opinion" on EVERYTHING! If he was deaf, dumb and blind, I'd buy into his not having any knowledge of the war. The truth is he DOES have knowledge of the war. He used this knowledge for some ratings by EXPLOITING it for ratings.
A better translation is that the left is still giving him some room, hopeful that he'll be one of their pawns for the liberal agenda. Oprah got him started and she's a raving liberal so ... there hope that ole Dr. Phil will hold the liberal line.
