Maybe they had better deal with the 1,000 dead in the Congo from keeping the peace there last week before they decide to interfere.

He wants to see if he has enough power left to just call a meeting.

In response to GW meeting Monday with Blair. If not, the UN will be considered irrelevant. And we would not want to see that happen now, would we?

The Tower of Babble. We should send a clerk to veto anything proposed by France or Russia, otherwise say only "Is this over?" while tapping impatiently on the table. Concurrently we could drop a MOAB on a bunkered facility somewhere.

I suspect the UN wants to discuss reconstruction of Iraq because the USA has said it will soon name the next Iraq government. The UN needs to scramble to get on board. It is about to get left behind.
