I wonder if some of the suicide guys are volunteers from other countries. I don't see so many Iraqis martyring themselves to preserve Saddam.

"They are hard fighters, but not smart fighters," Carter said. "Untutored courage is useless in the face of educated bullets" General Patton said.

To the southeast, at the Tigris River town of Salman Pak, U.S. forces searched what was believed to be a terrorist training camp, where they found obstacle courses, storehouses filled with gas masks, and the shell of a passenger jet -- perhaps a teaching aid for hijackers. PERHAPS? PERHAPS? unbelievable!

The sad thing is, a lot of the guys' lives are so worthless, that suicide attacks aren't so irrational. And their lives are worthless because the despotic regimes in the region care nothing about creating a free society where people can pursue their desires and earn a living.

They ducked when Capt. Chris Carter grabbed the 12-gauge combat shotgun and fired into the water. I'd say there was a good chance Capt. Carter was a good ole' country boy. Only a country boy/girl knows the true value of a scattergun in close quarters.
Remington 12 gauge, the ultimate equalizer!

I agree to an extent. There are a fair amount of Iraqis who benefit from the regime and have a stake in its continuation. But in the end, it doesn't matter -- they will either die or surrender.

"And their lives are worthless because the despotic regimes in the region care nothing about creating a free society where people can pursue their desires and earn a living." It's too bad someone can't teach these guys to waste their lives on the despots who have made their lives so worthless.

"I wonder if some of the suicide guys are volunteers from other countries. I don't see so many Iraqis martyring themselves to preserve Saddam." This may answer that question as: yes!
AS SAYLIYA CAMP, Qatar (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Sunday it had captured or killed fighters from Sudan, Egypt and other countries in Iraq, and some of those captured had led it to a terrorist training camp.
Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks told a briefing at Central Command in Qatar that the camp, found at Salman Pak southeast of Baghdad, demonstrated "a linkage between this regime and terrorism." But he said there was nothing to tie the camp to specific organizations.
"Some of these fighters come from Sudan, some from Egypt, some from other places," Brooks said of the foreigners.
"We've killed a number of them and we've captured a number of them, and that's where some of this information came from. It does say an awful lot about the approach the regime is taking to what's going on the battlefield right now."
Baghdad had appealed to sympathizers in other countries to join its forces in the battle against U.S.-led forces and in recent days there have been reports of many people from Arab countries traveling to Iraq to do just that.

Same Capt. Chris Carter who led his men to rescue the injured elderly Iraqui woman? Same Capt. Chris Carter mentioned in another firefight article? Can any FReepers verify? We've got ourselves a veritable Audie Murphy here!

Rush and others have made the point - how much better is it for us that all of these "suicide bombers" are going into Iraq and attacking the most potent military machine in the world. And getting mowed down for their trouble. I would say, IMHO, the net population of people willing to do a suicide bombing is decreasing daily.

Well, a new benefit of this war has been exposed. While it goes on, Iraq & the US military is becoming a magnet for an awful lot of the terrorist scum in the region.
Rather than having to hunt them down one by one in their home countries, these morons are making the "War on Terror" much easier through personal visits to Iraq where they can easily be exterminated with impugnity. Idiots.
As this war goes on, it looks like more and more of the "best" fighters the terrorist world has to offer will arrive in Iraq like lambs to the slaughter. Keep 'em comin.

"I would say, IMHO, the net population of people willing to do a suicide bombing is decreasing daily." I really hope so. I hope our boys stay safe and that God protects them with His angels and a "second sight" with split-second reflexes.
I als hope that He aides them in giving Allah (the other god) a huge sorting-out project. The more suicide martyr that our military can send to Allah's paradise complete with 72 Madaline Albright/Helen Thomas/Gloria Alred virgins the better. C'mon Syria, send them all down...something as good as U-Day's chipper awaits...the U.S. Armed Forces...they do more before 8-o'clock than the jihad terrorists can do in their entire miserable lives!

Oh, he's just getting some extra attention because there is an embedded reporter in his unit.
There are hundreds of Captain Carter's in theater.

You know, the thought has occured to me that some of these other countries may be taking this wonderful chance to rid themselves of local malcontents and radicals by shipping them off to Iraq to die glorious deaths for Uncle Saddam. No muss, no fuss, no bodies to bury. Just a one way coach ticket or bus ticket and Wallah! no more knuckleheads.
Might be a good idea too, Keeps those pesky US and British troops off of the door step and the smart bombs off the roof.
