WooHoo, thanks Kathy for posting these photos, my boxes should be arriving soon. I heard the Post Office chartered two 747's to help get mail to the troops! Of course we know what the weekend means, more shopping, more packing. Besides the Marines, I packed up another for Karl and of course a few for the Tarawa. Fun, fun, fun!
It's wonderful to hear that the post office is overwhelmed because it means our troops are going to get lots of mail.

ONE As the soot and dirt and ash rained down, We became one color. As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building, We became one class. As we lit candles of waiting and hope, We became one generation. As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno, We became one gender. As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength, We became one faith. As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement, We spoke one language. As we gave our blood in lines a mile long, We became one body. As we mourned together the great loss, We became one family. As we cried tears of grief and loss, We became one soul. As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes, We become one people. We are One color One class One generation One gender One faith One language One body One family One soul One people We are The Power of One. We are United. We are America.

Oh, I almost forgot. I heard from two more freepers who wanted contacts. I sent them Karl's and Alex's address. I think they were our newest and both have plenty around them to share if they get a lot of stuff.

Matthew 28:5-7
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

Yippee!! That is excellent news about the snail mail office finally getting it. Charter those planes and get this support stuff to our troops!! I still haven't heard that any of my incountry packages got there, but seeing as how they are moving so fast, I am not surprised, and the only reason I care is to find out if I'm sending the right stuff. The very thought of sending stuff that they can't use, or really don't care for is depressing. I want them to get what THEY WANT, not what I thought was a good idea.

Today I gave a short speech to about 300 people gathered at a support our troops rally in Yreka, CA (pop. about 10,000). Text as follows:
I am here today to stand with you to express support for our troops.
These soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines are our sons and daughters; our husbands and wives and our neighbors. All of us are touched by their lives and sacrifice.
As I watch the young faces on television speak of their loved ones, I am reminded that back home is right here. We are called to watch their six. We must remember to reach out to the families of our service people and make sure that their needs are met. Those on front lines should never have to worry about the welfare of their families back home
Folks in the military now have a job to do in the service of our country. And they are doing that job exceedingly well. We are so proud that they bring to this task the very highest standards of morality and unparalleled respect for humanity.
Anyone who has watched the current war on tv appreciates the remarkable efforts our service has taken to precisely focus its impressive strength of force upon enemy targets and away from innocent civilians. Our country holds life as precious and believes that every man should be treated with dignity and compassion. This contrasts sharply with the actions and beliefs shown by Saddams brutal forces.
We now fight a war in a country oppressed in brutal tyranny. A country that provides sanctuary for terrorism and proliferates weapons of mass destruction intended for innocent civilians.
Following 9 eleven we have tasted what living in the shadow of fear is like. Fear and freedom are incompatible.
Those in the service of the United States of America understand this. We have taught our children to stand tall that there are precious things worth fighting and dying for.
Let it be known that those who have given the ultimate sacrifice have done so to secure freedom from fear for every America. We honor them today and we give our heartfelt thanks for the sacrifices they are making for every one of us.
