BETTER LATE THAN NEVER After three weeks, Stuart News finally prints something about our Support Our Troops Rallies that we can mail to the troops. Unfortunately it's not on their website making it difficult or impossible for most families to email it to the troops! For scans of the pics and copy you can email go to News Piece on 04/04 Rally.
What the News is NOT getting yet, is that our community deserves real reportage about our rally to undo the misinformation in the editorials they have featured about all the rallies happening across America and the lies perpetuated in their letters to the editor. The troops are still anxious to hear the truth about how overwhelming our community supports them with a full-fledged story that does not equivocate.
In the absence of such a story (and one that gets on the News website)- institutional ads such as "salute to the troops" sponsored by Scripps Treasure Cost Newspapers" are easily recognized as mere tokenism and make NO contribution to the troops morale...full story online
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; US: Florida
KEYWORDS: april4rallies; mediabias; picketline; stuartfl; stuartnews; supportourtroops
There's a link to an archive that covers whole sordid account of how the paper refused to print one word about our rallies for three weeks then they got an ultimatum from the community that if they didn't we demonstrate at their headquarters. Finally the day we were ready to protest- their morning edition carried a small piece with a picture of the rally. We demonstrated anyhow with a sign that said- BETTER LATE THAN NEVER... see pics

Keep up the great work! My mother lives over there. I'll have to nudge her and hubbie to get involved.

We are moving into the area, and happened to be there around 5:30 pm to eat in the Thai restaurant at the end of bridge.
Gave some encouragement to all and heard several cars honk and give a thumbs up.
Sometimes progress is slow, but progressive.
Thanks for your efforts to make this event happen.
