Once the nation building process begins, even after all the UN has done to embarass the US, the US will turn over Iraq to the UN.

I certainly hope the UN has nothing to do with post war Iraq. Probably Powell will argue it should, but Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld and others will go against it. To date the opinion pieces in the Weekly Standard have been a very good indicator of what the administration will do. This may be the first in a large series of article that will begin appearing everywhere on the track record of the UN in rebuilding, which is horrible.

Good article but the same problems will arise with any quasi-colonization scheme, either by the U.N. or the U.S. The best solution is to allow the Iraq's to set up an interim government asap and then withdraw the troops on a fast time-table.
