I don't see how anybody could read or hear this account and not lose it then. When I listened to the briefing this morning I lost it there, lost it when I thought about it an hour later in the car, lost it again three times when reading those words in this thread.

Never, ever, in my life have six words carried such impact.

Never in my life will hearing these words, or analogous words, be the same. Somehow, I think I'll be hearing them when I'm singing "God Bless America" and "The Stars Spangled Banner", too, and I expect to again lose it.

Ditto everything you said about "I am an American soldier too!" What a brave girl. Her words give me chills every time I read them, much less say them. They will stand with "Let's roll!" as anthems for 21st century patriots.
