ex-military guys on Fox have been using a fly by and they call "downtown" that point in the loop of the Euphrates, just south of where we've been bombing the RG, Pres Palaces, Baath HQ, etc.

The guy on fox who was in Baghdad until a few weeks ago said that the major population center in Baghdad is really spread up and down the river (kind of like how L.A. is spread out). There's a geographic center, of course, but not really a population center.

That big bulbous-roofed mosque with the phallic minaret appears to be the center of town... there is also one of those traffic loops in front of it.

Got me....CNN?
CNN is now covering this in a ho-hum manner. No big deal, etc. They did say that everything is quite normal in town.
It is as if we will come in and everybody will yawn and say "so-what".....guess we will have to kick up some dust!
