It worked and as I said I wasn't there. It just puts a picture in my mind. I was remembering the President's visits to the mosques, his Ramadan feat at the WH, his insult to Christians - and Powells, his 'tolerance' speeches, he threats to Americans. I remember post 9/11 the constant barrage of how harrassed the Muslims were (most proved false)--And the President's refusal to deport the illegal alien Muslims. This sorta put me over the top. I just wondered when we would be 'bowing down' to Muslims for real - not just symbolically, in this country. Because evidently 'staring at them' is harrassment, per a news story out of Tempe, Ariz.

What is lost in all the commentary here is that the Iraqis felt SAFE doing this. They would never do that to the Republican Guard or the Fedayeen because they know they would be massacred. However, they know America's military is humane to civilians.

Well they are one fifth of the planet and currently they control the majority of single most important substance on this planet, maybe we ought to treat them with a modicum of respect, especially when waging wars around their holy sites. As for staring at people being a threat, where have you been? That's been considered a hostile act since the hey day of LA drive-bye shootings (late 80s), that's not a Muslim thing that's a psycho looking for an excuse thing.
