I understand the dogma, but you are incorrect. Christians take very good care of their churches and spend large sums to insure they are as beautiful as the congregation can provide.

Christian ministers leading tours to Jerusalem is a growth industry. The urge to go on pilgramages is very strong among American Christians.

Most of the images/idolatry dogma is as strong or even stronger among Muslims than among Christians. They don't permit any human or idolistic art or sculptures. The statues of the Virgin permitted by the Catholic church would be blasphemous to a Moslem.

Having said all that tho, the fact remains, the Iraqui Mosques are among the most beautiful places in the world and for American Christians to advocate that they should be defaced or destroyed is an absolute abomination.Crude Christians with no appreciation of history must not prevail. The American officer knew that and acted appropriately.

First, I haven't read all the posts, but I haven't seen anyone suggest that they be destroyed for the sake of destruction and I don't think that that was the intent of the soldiers there. Now we do know, however, that mosques are used to hide a lot of nefarious behavior - we have seen that here in America.

Just wonder, though, if y ou feel the destruction of a Christian Church would be an abomination? Not sacred enough for you? Just what is the criteria for sacredness?

Yes, as we are told time and time again by the intellectual, we are just a bunch of biggotted, racist, ignorant, boorish, loutish, and now I add crude Americans - Christian, especially. I suppose it is because Christianity doesn't fit the criteria for intellectual religion -
