GOP Leaders Press Ehrlich To Veto Medical Marijuana

The Bush administration and other top national Republicans are heavily pressuring Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. to veto a proposal that would drastically reduce penalties for terminally ill patients who smoke marijuana to ease pain.

In recent days, several Republican officials have urged Ehrlich to reconsider his longtime support of medical marijuana, which has become one of the few issues that divide the state GOP.

Per your reply #151, typical Libertarian bluster. Like a poddle yapping incessantly.

As you saw on this thread, I really don't have a problem with medical marijuana. The thing I don't like are people and groups shielding themselves behind innocent human suffering to push a different agenda(validation of the drug culture).

But you go ahead and keep on blustering if it makes you feel good. I am going back to watching our brave troops marching into Baghdad.

The veto would be made pursuant to state law........

However, the blackmail from DC sorta walks all over the idea of States Rights.

There wasn't any blackmail, your false and unsupported accusation notwithstanding.

He frequently refers to Geroge Soros being a big contributer to the legalization movement and then goes on to say how he also finances programs advocating total gun control.

Isn't that true?

Yes, it is true. It's also true that the AMA is opposed to legalization and are a bunch of gun-grabbers. But when I point that out, you accuse me of equating drugs and guns. So isn't cinFla equating them as well? I would gain quite a bit of respect for you if you showed some consistency.

That's a real problem for those who are attacking legislative restrictions on marijuana drugs by claiming medical necessity.

and are a bunch of gun-grabbers.

Guns aren't drugs.

Guns aren't drugs.

I REALIZE THAT!!!!!!!! Yes or no question: When cinFLA talks about George Soros' gun-grabbing in a drug-related thread, is it a good debating technique?

"I REALIZE THAT!!!!!!!!"

Drugs are drugs.

"When cinFLA talks about George Soros' gun-grabbing in a drug-related thread, is it a good debating technique?"

Depends on what he says.

Just like there is not federal blackmail on the stooopid drinking age of 21?

Just like there is no federal blackmail on speed limits?

Just like there is not federal blackmail on school curriculae?

Jackboot lickers like you, Roscoe, deserve to be made to feel the sting of federal caprice and overreaching. If I found a jackboot licker in my neighborhood, I would make sure every federal and federally coordinated busybody I could find is sicced on them, their property, and their family. That will teach them.

"Gee, I'm 'concerned' about their children. 'Concerned' their oil tank might leak. 'Concerned' about their drinking, etc." After all, jackboot lickers do no wrong, their lives are an open book, so no possible harm can come of it.

Blessedly brief, but no substance.

You know very well how the FedGov twists arms, and the Drug War is the worst offender.

You are no conservative.

Just to be clear before I prove you wrong:

You believe the fedgov does not blackmail states to adhere to a 65mph speed limit? A 21 drinking age? You honestly believe states do this without arm-twisting?

You are truely amazing.

If you have finally worked up the nerve to try to make the case that Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. was blackmailed, go for it.

That is SO funny, 'cause as many of you who call everyone and anyone a Libertarian know, and I've stated it MANY times, I'm not a "big L" Libertarian. I've not done much for or in the RLC, but they've got my full support. That is about as "Libertarian" as I get.
Remember, "Republican" is supposed to mean someone who supports a Republican form of government, not a Democracy...with a Republican form of government comes all of the Liberty I could want, when it is properly run that is.
Just as the Democratic Party has been infiltrated and taken over by Socialists the Republican Party must be infiltrated (for lack of a better term) and taken over by someone or something else to move it from it's entrenched positions or it will get beat from now on. Those of a libertarian bent (notice the "little l") are more properly positioned to do so and I believe the "old school" GOP knows that it is being hedged out and they just don't want to go.
Your pathetic ploys at labeling me as a "big L" libertarian are transparent and foolishness supreme and you look like an idiot when you do it.

You are exactly the type of jackboot licking slime that deserves to get driven out of town: A lying, slippery, dissembler.

The question is: Do YOU believe states are not coerced into stupid speed limit and drinking age laws.

No wonder you are never at Freeps. You live in fear that real conservatives will find out where you live and set the bureaucratic and regulatory dogs on you, something you richly deserve.

But DO go on. You are the best case for making narc's lives unlivable.
