NEAR BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- About 2,500 Iraqi Republican Guard troops surrendered Friday southeast of Baghdad, according to U.S. military officers, as American and Iraqi forces fought for control of Saddam International Airport, 12 miles from the center of the Iraqi capital. Continues.
