Last night's Candle Light Vigil in Fieldsboro, organized by the citizens, pardon me, make that family of Fieldsboro, was widely covered by the news media. Nutty Buddy, the Mayor of Fieldsboro, has done a great thing, h e's really brought the people of that town together. Mayor Nutty Buddy Tyler was interviewed by EVERY Philadelphia station and two from NYC. At the end of the report by Sharon Crowley of FOX Philadelphia, she noted that the controversy isn't over and that a rally was planned for Saturday. She said that Mayor Nutty Buddy had told her that he would have any ribbons put up Saturday on public property removed and would send the bill for the "clean up" to the Guardian Angels. So.....FREEP'S ON FOR SATURDAY. I'll be there to lend tactical air support to this effort. Please note that the good people of Fieldsboro are behind our troops 110%. Last night's vigil was sincere and heartfelt with virtually every speaker having to stop at some point due to being overcome by emotions. Lots o people in the crowd on the verge of tears too. WHEN: SATURDAY. APRIL 5th WHERE: FIELDSBORO, NJ TIME: HIGH NOON SPEAKERS: Curtis Sliwa, Founder/Head of the Guardian Angels and WABC 770 AM Radio Personality. Bret Schundler, former Jersey City Mayor and candidate for NJ Governor. Nat Broizman of Patriot Protest, who orginated this rally. The people of Fieldsboro are great. The police have stated in the press that their only concern is for traffic. Don't be surprised if you're sent a half mile into town to the park or ball field if the rally gets big. Please cheerfully cooperate with the officers directing traffic if that happens. DIRECTIONS: FROM NJ TURNPIKE
Take NJ TPK South to Exit 7, Rt 206 Take Rt 206 South ramp marked MCGUIRE AFB-FORT DIX At first traffic light on RT 206 South, make a right Go about 100-150 yards to stop sign and take first street on your right Take that road a little more than a mile till it dead ends at Rt 130 Northbound Turn right on Rt 130 North and just ahead is a JUGHANDLE on the right JUGHANDLE is marked DUNN'S MILL RD. There's also a sign with an arrow that says FIELDSBORO. Take JUGHANDLE around to stop sign and make a left. Cross straight over Rt 130 Fieldsboro sign/Hegyi's Liqour is 100 yards ahead on the right. FROM I-295 North Take Exit 56, NJ TPK and Rt 206 FORT DIX-MCGUIRE AFB. At top of ramp, turn left. Take that road a little more than a mile till it dead ends at Rt 130 Northbound Turn right on Rt 130 North and just ahead is a JUGHANDLE on the right JUGHANDLE is marked DUNN'S MILL RD. There's also a sign with an arrow that says FIELDSBORO. Take JUGHANDLE around to stop sign and make a left. Cross straight over Rt 130 Fieldsboro sign/Hegyi's Liqour is 100 yards ahead on the right. Fieldsboro sign/Hegyi's Liqour is 100 yards ahead on the right. I don't know how NUTYY BUDDY will be able to tell the yellow ribbons the Guardian Angels will put up from those ALREADY put up all over town on public property by the outraged citizens of Fieldsboro.
(DO NOT MISTAKENLY TAKE 7A I-195)
(it's the far left lane coming out of the toll booths)
(Pilot Gas/Wendy's on right)
(T-intersection)
(divided highway)
(divided highway)
"From I-295 South" means those have to head South on I-295 to get there. For example, people in Trenton.
IN CASE YO GO OFF COURSE: Dunn's Mill Road is the first traffic light south of where I-295 crosses over Rt 130. There's a NJ State Police Barracks and a NJ National Guard facility there. There's a huge antenna tower is in the backyard of the State Police barracks.

Wearing and otherwise displaying ribbons of various colors to remember loved ones far away or to identify with a particular cause is a contemporary custom that has roots in both popular culture and folk tradition. These origins are explored in two articles by the late Gerald E. Parsons Jr., folklorist and reference librarian at the American Folklife Center. The 1981 article was written in response to many queries about displays of ribbons during the Iran hostage crisis in 1979. Over a decade later, during the Gulf War, these questions arose again, and gave rise to a second article |
