The important thing to remember is that this professor was just stupid enough to say what Dashole, Kerry and most of the other Rats in Congress would say if they were to really speak their minds. This professor is not the problem - just the symptom. The real problem is that most of the Rats in Congress feel the same way, but are sly enough not to say so.

I don't want to get in a flame war over this, but as bad as deGenova is, I think he's got an awful lot of competition these days.

Free speech carries with it a certain amount of responsibility; something the professor shows complete lack of. You can and should e-mail Columbia
ar471@columbia.edu. Then send a letter to this woman.

Maybe Columbias Alumni will show more responsibility than the current president Lee C. Bollinger, as to who can teach at the school. Assistant Professor De Genova , untenured or tenured, should be sent packing not only because he is a hateful traitor but also for the sheer stupidity of his remarks. He is not fit to teach anyone anywhere.

You're right to say that many are as bad as this guy. Maybe the others are worse - at least this scab has the courage to say what he thinks as opposed to fifth columnists who think the same way yet hide within the Trojan Horse of Pacifism.

His job is safe according to the NYT today, April 4th. The President of Columbia says his remarks are protected speech.
This decision cannot stand and should not. OTOH, firing the POS will only turn him into a symbolic adoration figure of the left, something like a Che Guevara for the 21st century. De Genova is simply the guy that got caught with his pants down...there are many more like him teaching in academia.
