I dont know why the a pickup truck with two middle-aged, burly mustachioed men didnt turn into a pickup truck with two dead middle-aged, burly mustachioed men.

President Saddam Hussein's Baath Party officials in the city are desperate and ready to surrender. Well, he!!, they could have used the raised hands and white flag thing if some of their buds hadn't screwed it up for them.
To: 11th_VA
The problem, he said, is that the widely hated party needs protection from mob violence if its members decide to give up
awwww, so sad, those poor butchers are scared.
To: 11th_VA
The sad thing is if these thugs are taken as POW's they will probably just be released when the war is over. I say wait and let the crowds have them and decide what to do with them.
To: 11th_VA
I bet these Baath party members are desperate! They have 2 choices. Either surrender or die!

Give em to the mobs.
A "freedom" present.
If they jail and try them, Iraq is on the way to recovery.
If they get lynched, well, why waste money on a trial and stuff.

Actually their two choices are die or die.

What goes around comes around, payback is a mf...they don't get any sympathy from me, I might give them a blindfold and a cigarette which is more than they deserve...they could have stopped this crap many times over but didn't..

This doesn't sound like a very trustworthy cleric to me. This is not a good man.

I can imagine how difficult it must have been for the anti-American NYT to print an article that shows a military success by our side.

I believe that this is an Iraqi civil issue. We should turn them over to the new Iraqi regional authorities.
(Hopefully they acquired the Guillotine along with the other French technology)

"What worries them is that there are no means for mediation and no plan for their future," he said. I'm sure the locals have a few plans for their future.
It would be insensitive of us to interfere.

What to do . . . what to do . . . .

" Meanwhile, he said gangs of young paramilitary troops, known as fedayeen, are roaming Basra, killing those deemed disloyal to the government. "
This is the real problem..... not the Baath party officials. And that's why the Brits are there..... trying to quell the thugs. I think this cleric has been a bit brainwashed himself. *sigh*

Wish people would remember that smoking shortens ones life span.
