Illbay, I think sooner or later you're going to have to accept that you can't unite everyone into one religion. Each will say his prayer and others will be tollerant. I don't bear these Jewish people any disrespect, but they are not respectful of this man's faith. His prayer was not an insult to them. Joseph went into Egypt where the Pharoes worshiped other Gods. He thrived there, even working for high government officials. I doubt he demanded they abstain from their religious practices in front of him. I doubt they demanded he change his views. That's all were talking about here.

If there was no way to make a prayer that would be acceptable to all involved, I might see your point. But in this case there are points of congruence between Christian, Jew and Muslim.

Even Buddhists and Hindus use the generic term "God" to mean deity.

A prayer to God would have been appropriate.
