I'm thinking the same thing. While I wouldn't call the advance on BAG easy (there's nothing easy about what the Coalition forces have done in the past 2 weeks) the Iraqi monster isn't quite dead yet. There's still likely several thousand fanatical troops with years of blood on their hands in there, and I can't see them rolling over by choice. Face it, the regime doesn't care one iota about the lives of its' citizens, and if they know they're going down what would motivate them to resist trying to inflict as much damage and death as they can.
I sense the next few days could be very ugly. If they aren't, there will probably be no time in my life I'll be so happy to be wrong.

I pray that we are wrong, but I've been afraid since the beginning that Saddam would sacrifice the citizens of Baghdad and blame it on America. If you look at the reporting from Al Jezeera and other Arab television you can see why Saddam would use those useful idiots to condemn America for slaughtering civilians. I really don't know how we can counter that kind of threat. I believe that the Pentagon is afraid of the same thing, because they keep warning that Saddam will kill his own people. But that also become part of the propaganda war. They can say that Americans are warning about such attacks to avoid the blame when they "kill" civilians. The whole thing is a sticky wickett.
