I pray that we are wrong, but I've been afraid since the beginning that Saddam would sacrifice the citizens of Baghdad and blame it on America. If you look at the reporting from Al Jezeera and other Arab television you can see why Saddam would use those useful idiots to condemn America for slaughtering civilians. I really don't know how we can counter that kind of threat. I believe that the Pentagon is afraid of the same thing, because they keep warning that Saddam will kill his own people. But that also become part of the propaganda war. They can say that Americans are warning about such attacks to avoid the blame when they "kill" civilians. The whole thing is a sticky wickett.

I'm afraid at this juncture blaming it on the Americans is irrelevant to these jackels. It's about bloody retribution for toppling the regime. That's a far worse motivation from our perspective, I fear.
