I think HELL FIRE MISSLES come from helecopters...that's air cover!

My hat's off to her...in spades !

The whole reporter embedding is pure genius. Not only do we get great coverage, but the reporters find it extremely difficult to put a leftist slant on anything, let alone stay objective. Putting them in with the troops a week or two in advance was brilliant, too, as they got to know the guys before they went into battle.
I know we've had a few that managed to screw up, they're pretty much gone. Others complain about cheerleading, too bad. Normal to cheer on the guys who are keeping you from getting your butt shot off.

Then, there's trying to talk to my great nephew ( who thankfully, at 8, has a better grasp of English now ) and my almost 4 year old niece, on the phone. Yes, that's probably the only way! Most of them speak English, don't they?
To: wirestripper
pshaw! They were taking mortar rounds and a Cobra was finally brought in. You are one sowerpuss don'tcha know.

It would be pretty hard to critisize someone who is trying to keep your butt safe!
To: Jewels1091
That's my point! He said there was no air support. It was stated more than once.
So where did the hellfire come from.? he was also inferring that 155's were used. I doubt he would be that close if they were.
He hyped it!

I think she earns her pay all right. She works 60 hours a week and has 2 or 3 small kids! Don't put Torie down...she does a HELL OF A JOB!!!!!!

I am really curious who he said "you can't leave them here" (the family) to. Probably the guys in the tank he's traveling with, I'd guess. The dogs will either follow them or they'll make their way home. Sad to think of it, but really they're better off dead, unless they can survive the next few days till their family makes it home.

OK, John Wayne. Go to bed now.

I think we should e-mail Fox and tell them to offer to hire this man!If the phones of every anchor, reporter, producer, director and executive at every national TV news organization in this country weren't ringing off the hook within 3 minutes of this starting telling them to wake the hell up and turn on MSNBC, I'll eat my hat. (Well, except for some of the MSNBC people, since they were too stupid and/or preoccupied to get permission to break into the network.) The MSNBC people desperately need something to brag about, and everyone else had to just marvel at what may be the Ultimate TV Moment of Gulf War II, right up there with the CNN guys in the Baghdad hotel in 1991.

Agreed. After this war, all those spouting the "why can't we all just get along" tripe will be a little quieter (I hope) now that they've seen face-to-face a military that would kill them just for the fun of it.

So where did the hellfire come from.? They had a Cobra in the air. I don't know who peed in your fruit loops but you really need to calm down.

I think he is floating a story that he rescued PFC Lynch with SF last night... Oh, heavens, for a short time there I had forgotten how quiet he's been! Yes, he's probably trying to figure out some way to take credit for some of this!
To: so_real
You can't get a more real reality check.

Yes, they do; however, when there are a number of them together, they speak Afrikaans and there were quite a number of them at the wedding. Then, there was my s-i-l's sister, who was one of the readers, and she did it in Afrikaans. None of us had a clue, what she would read, before the ceremony and I'm not sure that I do, even now, three years later. LOL
But, my great nephew didn't speak much English at all, until this year; his little sister speaks only Afrikaans. Can't leave her out of the talk. :-)
Most Boers also speak several of the tribal languages, as well .
