PFfttt!!! You're so silly. Of course they ARE permitted and they ARE serving.

Citing perverted propaganda from a perverted source is what is silly.

Try reading the law. Personal behavioral choices in the military are clearly explained in PUBLIC LAW 103-160, SECTION 654, TITLE 10.

Either this kid is really stupid or he is being manipulated by some organization or person(s) to bring discredit on the Marine Corps specifically and the military in general.

Probably by one of the "peace and justice" centers. Lala land crawls with them. They offer "Draft counseling" and encourage people to do stuff like this. I got the info listed below from Santa Rosa's "Peace and Justice Center" website.

The phrase "the draft" conjures up images from the Vietnam War: weekly body counts, young men making agonized decisions. More than 20 years later, no one is actually being drafted. However, young people still have important decisions to make about military service.

Conscientous Objector Counseling is offered through the center. The counseling service assists citizens in navigating the selective service and C.O. filing procedures. If you are interested, please contact us. We are also seeking volunteers to staff this effort, please visit the volunteer page if you are interested in becoming a counselor.

Reveals? His homosexuality was mentioned in the article that was posted yesterday! I didn't think it was any secret. This was known from the beginning, as far as I could tell from the previous article.

Smells like an ACLU test case

Not likely, since they already have had "test cases" on both of these issues, and the military side won. This is just run-of-the-mill AWOL stuff. Happens in the military all the time: AWOL soldier (or a problem soldier) admits he is also gay. The conscientious objector stuff is just extra.

AKA: Inconvenient Facts.

What facts? Citing anomalies isn’t equivalent to law. Nice try at sophistry there mad “gay.”

What? You’ve never heard of the “Queen For A Day” exception?

You meant the “Insanity For a Day” exception. It’s for those who don’t decide to chronically practice perversion. The pathology is generally lasting until one seeks therapy.

Right now there are thousands of gays serving in the military with honor. Get used to it.

Homosexuals who sneak into the military concealing their pathology have NO honor regardless of how well they masquerade as a soldier. I’ll never get use to it.

...living and working with folks that think and talk and act like some of the posters in this thread...

Actually, the comments being made here are quite mild compared to my fellow soldiers when I was in the army. One individual stupid enough to advertise his persuasion experienced a very unpleasant "blanket party". The comments made to and about him definitely could not be posted on FR. He left with a bad conduct discharge.

Homosexuality was definitely not "popular" when I was in. I doubt it's much more popular now.

being gay has played a role in his moral development.

It's all downhill from there.
