Yeah, but they're not feeding all the Baghdad war orphans yet, and what about those poor dolphins? Besides, the whole world hates us for this, so there!

Could these scum have boobytrapped the entire city?I'm sure there are surprises, but the entire city? That's a lot of square miles. My bet is they actually thought they could ride this one out, due to protests and world opinion. They want to live.

(AFP) US-British calculations on Iraq "seriously wrong": India
NEW DELHI (AFP) - Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha said that the United States and Britain had made a mistake in attacking Iraq (news - web sites) and urged the UN Security Council to take the initiative to end the war.
The US and British "calculations have gone seriously wrong," Sinha said Wednesday in an exclusive interview with AFP.
"It's not merely in terms of military resistance that the Iraqi army was likely to offer but also the mood of the people of Iraq.
"I don't know on what they had based their calculations but what one knows from experience now of 14 days that it was a serious miscalculation."

Can you say JSTARS?
Seriously, this is all good stuff. The scouts were in Bagdhad Sunday night/Monday morning, they did their reconnoitering, and they left. Two days later, we get to hear about it.
Some of what can be seen in Near-Real-Time is guaranteed to blow your socks off.

I don't think we have any of Saddam's DNA... Maybe Chirac and Daschle could give us samples of The Possibly Dead-One's DNA...

Thanks, that cartoon perfectly encapsulates Aaron Brown, Peter Arnett, Chirstianne Ammenpour and Judy Woodruff's attitudes..

Every time I see that picture, I have to suppress a laugh at the General's expression. To me, it's kind of like, "Gee, I wish I could do that."

Maybe Chirac and Daschle could give us samples of The Possibly Dead-One's DNA... Good idea! From them, a cheek swab would probably supply plenty of Saddam's 'genetic material'.

Very little reported is the fighting/bombing in the southern end of the kurd autonomous zone. Form there one could proceed west to Tikrit, south to Baghdad, or north to kirkuk.
