Ok, I'm jealous. It takes me about ten minutes of comparing pictures to find the right name for the weapons. I have a photographic mind for stuff that I actually own but I can't tell one machine gun from another. I still can't figure out exactly what a SAW really looks like and they hang so many electronic sights and stuff on them, they're buried with the stuff.

The machine gun is a Russian PK - 7.62 X 54R It was the first general purpose machine gun introduced into service so it's an old design. I think I also noticed the belt enters on the right side instead of the left.

Low tech:

An Iraqi Kurd peshmerga fighter looks at an Iraqi distance guide for heavy artillery with the name of his village marked in territory newly acquired by Kurds after a defensive retreat by Iraqi government forces south west of Arbil, northern Iraq, April 2, 2003. U.S. Marines bombarded Kut, a key city on the Tigris river, on Wednesday, in what appeared to be a renewed advance toward the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Staff Sgt. Larry W. Trimmer, civil affairs NCO from Williamstown, N.J. with the 4th Civil Affairs Group hands out lentils to women in this image release by Central Command Wednesday April 2, 2003. Since the war began food and water has become scarce. Water has become extremely precious, as electricity is needed to get the water to the townships. With the electrical supply down many families are forced to drink rainwater, which can lead to medical problems such as dysentery.

I believe that is a "Swingfire". Brits mount it on a modified Scorpian light tank chassis.

PFC Lynch looks alot better than I expected her to.
Especially with the Iraqi regime's ideas about humane prisoner treatment.
At leats she's alive.
Though I'm worried about the fact they stretchered her out of there.

Now Russia is saying that USA plans to plant WOMD. I say we are close to hit the jackpot.

Gee, wonder why they ever thought to say such a thing. What could have given them that idea? Hmmm...

Bless you, Dio, for these threads. You have a way of pulling photos together to tell a larger, more true picture.

I see the Iraqi citizens greeting the Allied heroes know the Victory sign! This sort of Victory truly means peace.

I say call for Hans Blix to be on the front line and show him what he was looking for. Possibly the skeptics will believe Blix when he shows and tells!

I wonder if Hansel has any sense of shame. Do you think he sleeps well at night? I'd love to know how he can even get through the day knowing what he helped to continue for so long.
