My daughter went from Southern California to the icy, windy winters of Wheaton College (31 miles SW of Chicago). It was quite an adjustment, but she made it through. RK, have you ever driven through Wheaton--especially the area near the college? Its streets and homes look like something out of a magazine.

z: St. Joseph's University sounds safer than Berkeley, but a word to the wise: be on guard where those poli-sci professors are concerned. There's a DeGenova or two lurking on every campus....

Yes, the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn area is so pretty! Those old victorian homes are really something else. It was all over the news a couple of months ago that they are going to allow some drinking at Wheaton College. I'm not sure of the exact details, though, but I think it is for seniors and higher only.
