Ken Adelman was author of cakewalk and as things look today and as wars go it has gone very well.We bombed the h.. out of them before we put boots on the ground in GW1 .The entire thing lasted about 45 days. We have much more land to cover this time and kept Saddam from causing another environmental disaster. While Cheney said it could be fast ,he went on to qualify it.

Using that term raises expectations beyond any semblance of reality. Inadvertent or not, Adelman (and the others, Perle and Clintoon) should NEVER have used it.

Alternatives: Successful and relatively brief campaign; Expeditious campaign which should minimize Coalition force casualties; Dangerous but necessary mission which should have a favorable result in a relatively short timeframe.

Thanks for posting that information. Some people just don't like conservatives such as Perle and jump at the chance to criticize them, whether their sources are true or not. I heard Ken Adelman being interviewed recently and he mentioned that the "cakewalk" reference was in an article that he had written eighteen months ago and he didn't back off from it much at all.
