This part of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" has alway brought tears to my eyes and I have them now as I post this.

Our troops are marching on,
God is marching on!

Beautiful post. That is one of my favorite hymns, too. Taught all the verses to my fifth graders when I taught in CA a long time ago!
