Y'know, if I were one of the higher ups at NPR I'd be really concerned over the number of Freepers who apparently have memorized the entire Monty Python schtick. I know that their conservative viewers outnumber liberals, but maybe by larger margins than they think.

Pretty much anything that is Monty Python will be funny.

After "The Holy Grail", some parts of "The Life of Bryan", and a few skits like "The Ministry of Silly Walks", I found Monty Python a great bore.

They do think we are stupid. And many that I've met are indeed NOT very smart. I'm an engineer, and went to school many years ago with a lot of Middle-Eastern types. The great majority (with a few wonderful, friendly, great people exceptions), had the worst case of un-deserved arrogance I've ever seen. Humility is almost unheard of.

"Cocky" and "condescending" don't really describe some of the things I've experienced. One rich Lebanese fellow actually expected me to hand over my homework to him so he could "check his answers". I offered to sit down with him and go over his work, but he insisted (as he tried to wrest my paper from me) that I just give my homework to him.

If it really is a "Saddam statement" I think it's safe to say that he's "got religion" now.

Almost as good as the Monty Python skits was Sky News' David Chater (sp?) reporting of the speech. He just told us that "it sounded like" the style of speech Saddam would give so "he must be alive" to have written it. The same sarcastic spirit must run in the blood of all Englishman.. only David was serious.

I am tired of this. Let's force the issue. Why not simply start the simple rumor... or in this case, surmise, that "SADDAM IS DEAD". A question to our loyal-pro American Arabic scholars... what is the Arabic for "SADDAM IS DEAD!" ? At every rally, meeting, anywhere Al Jazzzzzeera might possibly have coverage, have people chat "SADDAM IS DEAD" in Arabic. Perhaps this will make 'em fish or cut bait, (sh*t or get off the pot?)! SADDAM IS DEAD!
