Not all of them do. In the GW one British SAS team was bombed by our A-10 even though they had the Union Jack on their vehicles.

Sheen is an actor, and a good one at that. His political thought, however, rivals that of a precocious pre-teen with poor impulse control. The obvious answer is that Martin Sheen should try acting like a good American, as acting is his only discernable talent. Or maybe he could try acting like a thoughtful and sensible human being for a change. Given his considerable skills, this shouldn’t be too difficult for him. Then again, maybe he could just act like a man with duct tape over his mouth. All he would have to do is shut up.

Good article

Re. "only one MRE"... According to a buddy of mine, these "rations" are apparently very high calorie to begin with, and designed for combat soldier situation. Only one per day is not going to be a problem for anyone, though they usually allot more. ... again, confirmation would be appreciated...

Is this possible? Or is it just a figment of my fevered imagination?

Sounds good to me. Let'saddle up!

Here's a dotmil site about MRE's. Each one has about 1300 calories

Fox - Wires report that precision munitions hit the Iraqi National Olympic COmmittee which houses the Ministry of Youth. The hit was to erode command and control functions

You could get by with one MRE per day as they are high calorie. MREs have approximately 1300 calories (5439 kJ) per meal with 55% of the energy from carbohydrates, 35% from fat and 15% from protein. If in cold environment and exerting you would need more.

I've got a webpage with more info on MREs here

the MRE's are 12 to 1300 calories each...one a day is enough...but not really. These guys are in hot weather, sweating out everything that goes in, burning calories just on adrenaline alone. They have to wear their mopp suits, which is going to increase their body temperatures...burning even more calories. I'm sure they're fine with one meal...but they really need 3 at least. They don't live on MRE's alone though. Speaking from experience, I know most of these guys stock up on pogey bait (silly name for real food) like beef jerky, protein bars..etc...things that are light and easy to carry.

Any threads on FR concerning the recent (today or yesterday I think) friendly fire incident between a U.S. A-10 plane and British ground troops?

Saw a couple using "cowboy" in the search option.

My roomies pogey bait was sardines. When it got hot he would open a tin and offer some and I'd about puke at the sight and smell. He's eat them head and all. He used to make the army grunts puke into their helmets when we flew together all the time with this same routine.

Dang straight they should. They want to play baseball...the American pastime, against American teams, with American players, and there Americans playing on both of those teams as well. Show some unity and respect for once and stop trying to find all of these ridiculous excuses to moan and gripe and seperate yourself from everyone else. If they don't like...then boycott baseball for the season. Both of those teams suck anyways, we won't miss em.

Yes to all of you... 1300cal not really enough for sustained effort, but it seems that a few days isn't going to hurt anybody or make them sluggish. That is not to say they wouldn't be complainin', though.
