I just did my taxes, and I want more of that money spent on defense, dammit!

I actually know where our guys are (part of my job) but according to open source matterial a large patrol of Aussie SAS intercepted a reporter just outside Baghdad two days ago.

There is no BS spin. It sure as heck is better news than that ALL had been killed. Remember, at least 5 of those bodies had been seen in the controversial video from Sunday, so at least those are not a surprise. 9 dead is bad, but the fact that 1 survived and thus kept it from being 10 dead is good news.

There was the black young woman on TV .. shoshana & the american Indian I had mentioned earlier..

Outstanding update from Ollie. I was so honored to meet him last Fall. I pulled out his first book and started back reading it last night. It got put on hold b/c of the reading load this semester with school, but I took some time to push through it. What an amazing man.

" . I found a dead springer(white/gold) in a pool of water. took off colar & called owners.."
Having just lost my Springer at age 17, I can testify to what a wonderful breed they are.

While only a contractor and not an architect, regardless, I am in design mode designing the room in hell for the person who would make such a phone call. When I get the specifications done, I may sleep, but if I run out of ideas, I will ping you, but I don't think my feaverish mind will be unfertile in that regard.

That and everyones posts are making me tear up, too. I can't imagine what it's like to be a parent or spouse of anyone in our military. Someone used to have the tag line that was something like, "Bless the families of our troops because they are soldiers, too" it's the truth.
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
Good grief. LKL has Walter Cronkite on.
I flipped it over just in time to hear him say he didn't agree with "our going to war untilaterally"! He then went on to call our troops "boys and girls". He belongs in the last century.

There is no BS spin. It sure as heck is better news than that ALL had been killed. If you recover 10 people, 1 alive and 9 dead, then you report that. To report only the 1 living one is spin. I assume, for the purpose of conversation, the 9 dead ones were dead two days ago.

It means that all the Freepers wanted to see your page and within moments, the allowed bandwidth was exceeded. (you are popular!)

The last thing we need is some BS spin game from military and administration. Maybe we should wait for a response from CENTCOM before we start calling it BS spin
One thing I have notice throughout this war is that reports from the media are all over the place and not always accurate

I got tired of Geocities several years ago, escpecially when Yahoo bought them and claimed all my copyrights.
I know of a sweet deal for $4.95 a month for all the server space and transfer you'll ever need. I use them for my website.
To: Cboldt
Almost certainly 5 were dead and were shown to be dead when they were shown in the media. Executed is what was reported. So at worst 1 of 5 was saved tonight.

Really? Interesting to know. If you ever come across any of 'em, let them know how much we appreciate what they're doing.
To: Cboldt
To report only the 1 living one is spin Why can't we give them the benefit of the doubt, until we know the whole story?
They gave us the good news after they'd notified her family.
The nine bodies required a lot more notification, probably a lot of time (I assume they sent someone out, rather than using the phone).
I, for one, am glad they gave us the good news when they could.
Just my .02...
