I am not knowledgeable on arresting cables, other than to know that if they snap they can and have cut sailors legs off and killed them, very dangerous job on deck..here are some nice pics and short explanation...

Sounds like the media is still getting disappointed at the popularity of the war --- CNN reports 72%, and that seems to be the lowest I've heard. They have to spend more time digging up civilian casualty stories, preferably with children.
