Sounds like a good idea.

That fool, Torlakson, is the State Senator my neck of the woods! He was on the Board of Supervisors in CCC and was full of it then, too. When we was elected as a member of the Assembly, his leaning became even more left. Once he won the election for State Senator, it became no holds barred!
I actually hope that his stupid tax increase goes through - I think the voters in this area need a little eye opener.

Over 10 years, the bill would bring in $7 billion to $8 billion, says Torlakson. No it won't.
Sounds like a good idea.
No it's not.
It will never achieve its intended purpose. It will never be reduced or repealed once enacted.

Sen. Tom Torlakson, another Democratic, ultraliberal idealogue in a gerrymandered, insulated district thanks to our Republican friends in the 1998 legislature.
As long as conservatives in conservative districts keep electing moderate Republicans these attacks on common sense are simply going to proliferate.
We can't win when we elect representatives that are aiding, abbetting and empowering our liberal opponents.

All I can do anymore is laugh.
Until the rebellion starts at least.

Inflation? Businesses moving away? Lost jobs? --Raise taxes, say the California Democrats.
Terrorism? --Pacifism...
Guns? --Grab them...
Leadership? --Elect more of us...

"The problem is not insufficient revenue," he says. "The problem is that the ample revenues the state receives are not being used to build highways." This is absolutely true, although there is a second aspect of wasting gas tax money on transit which is also outrageous.
I live in the SF Bay area, and work at a company which has two local sites--separated by about 5 miles.
The San Jose light rail system not only doesn't have enough riders to break even, but because the system is built on ground level tracks, it manages to screw up auto traffic.
It is a frequent ocurrence for me to have to stop 3 times for the same empty train while driving from one facility to another. This boondoggle was an incredibly stupid waste of money, and if we let the politicians put their hand in our pocket, they will only compound their stupidity.

What they'll end up doing is drive down profits for inter/intra state commerce. They'll lower both their tax revenue for the state and access to Federal aid. These people will never get it...
