ODE TO FORMER-FRIENDS

The Yanks and Brits and Aussies
Are shedding blood tonight
In a just war to free Iraqis
They are dying for what's right

And the soldiers look to left and right
And are struck by what they don't see
They don't see the Hosers by their sides
Canada chose France and Germany

Former-friends now call them bastards
And jeer when their song is played
And a friendship they once thought was strong
Has been rapidly unmade

And it hurts their hearts and strains theirs minds
Like a death in the family
Canada has not chosen wise
Canada is dead to me

"After all, if we're going to go knocking off every genocidal dictator with a taste for weapons of mass destruction who has invaded two of his neighbours and defied 17 U.N. resolutions over a dozen years since a ceasefire that was never honoured in a previous war duly authorized by the Security Council, well, where do you stop?"

Nice satire.

" This war is unjustified under the Charter of the United Nations."

Me thinks this Canafrance resident does not get it. WE are quitting the U.N. before this is all said and done. The gurantees the so called U.N. charter allegedly provides were all lies. So we'll do our own thing. Perhaps the Canucks can get a Security Council resolution to get permission to fart more than once a week or speak in public more than twice per week. After all, all that methane and carbon dioxide from north of the border can not be good for the enviroment and it must be a violation of Kyoto.

Me thinks this Canafrance resident does not get it.

He gets it perfectly. He is setting out all the ridiculous and contradictory things that the Canadian government has said at various times over the past few months.

This guy is on OUR side.

"We are in favour of UN resolutions but against their enforcement; against the use of force but in favour of the threat of it; against fighting the war, but in favour of winning it. This is part of Canada's unique national identity. Other countries may support the war without participating in it. Only Canada is participating without supporting it. "

Can I use this this? LOL.
