Last night people didn't like what he said in a thread here. Any more details?

In Geraldo's case, ego trumps common sense every time.

After all the noise Fox made about Peter Arnett, if Gerldo was gone, they would have no choice but to report it with just as much fevor, don't you think?
My suspicions would have gone up when I heard it had been on Drudge. I can't remember the last time he was right about anything.

I'm a diehard FOX watcher, but I've got to admit, I'm not very happy with the fact that they haven't been up front about this situation with Rivera getting chased from the battlefield.
They need to own up to this, and the sooner the better.
Perhaps they are delaying, while they meet to decide whether to can him completely from FOX.
That would be the best outcome, IMHO.
He's a self-promoting jerk, and only serves to damage the credibility of any news outlet that hires him.

I'm tellin' y'all, Geraldo would be no good at all without the mustache. It would be like peanut butter without jelly.

"He's the only journalist who could find and open Saddam's vault" Well, maybe they'll let him back in when the war's over to open the vault and retrieve Saddam and his demon spawn.

Well if Geralado screwed up he definitly should be booted. That said I wuoldn't equate Geraldo's excesses with Arnett's sedition. 9-11 was a revelation for Geraldo, he has been a staunch advocate for the WOT and very supportive and lavish in his praise for our troops.
Geraldo may be stupid, but not a traitor like Arnett.

Yeah, you can tell with people like Carl Cameron that FNC has ins that others don't.
I suppose having someone in Baghdad doesn't really add much.
Wonder why the news orgs don't get their own micro-drones...little R/C aircraft with tv cameras that you cn buy in any hobby store here. Might not have a very long survival life for each unit, but it'd sure be some cool TV.

"they should at least be on the up and up about Geraldo." They're probably waiting for him to get settled in his new digs to give them an exclusive interview. Look for it on O'Reilly tonight.

I don't know if
this might have something to do with it. "One event that might have alleviated the boredom Monday didn't happen. To the disappointment of the reporters - and vocal pleasure of some soldiers in my tent - a tentatively-planned visit by television personality Geraldo Rivera was cancelled. Army officials said Rivera was turned back after getting near the camp without military clearance. There was a chance he would try again later."

I would much rather watch A-10 gun camera footage. NOW THAT would be some great television.

Fox News Channel's Geraldo Rivera has been expelled from his embedded position, for giving away secrets on the air, CNN reported this morning. So far I have seen nothing on CNN's web site at this time 9:14 am central time. I believe it is a rumor and nothing else

Like many here, I am sick of Whorealdo and his showboating. Recently, he brought an even more obvious Barnum & Bailey aspect to his "coverage" of the war.
Unlike other reporters who showed up with helmets, gas masks and serious reporting, Jerry showed up with his gamblers moustache, suspenders and cowboy hat. Then, he used the troops - lots and lots of them - as props and extras for his schtick. He is an embarassment, detracting from FOX coverage. I couldn't watch him very long and turned to other stations. The worst I saw was a week ago in Aghanistan when he had a hangar full of troops OOAAHing! on cue for his endless patter. I was horrifyed when he showed up in Iraq to upstage all the other reporters who are doing such a fine job.
Good riddance!
Now FOX needs to get rid of their other star Liberal, Greta von MushMouth. They need to hire somebody who can talk straight, ask coherent questions (not lawyer questions) and not irrelevantly butt in all over her guests.

"His heart may be in the right place (with the troops), but he just can't contain himself..."I can't help but agree with you, much as I surprise myself these days by even thinking this way about Geraldo.
I see a sincere effort on his part to come over from "the Dark Side". He clearly feels for these guys he's in the field with, and his support for them cannot be questioned. I truly believe his heart was definitely in the right place.......but as you said, he gets a bit overly enthusiastic and engages in a bit of grandstanding. That can be forgiven readily, unless it (inadvertently or otherwise) possibly compromises the efforts of our forces in combat.
I'm sure he feels like warmed-over s**t about it, but I'll bet he'll also be the first to admit to the mistake. Like him or not, you must admit the guy's a pro.
I feel sorry for 'im on this one.

Yes, NG has fired him. They have released a statement.
