[history]
Controversial MSNBC correspondent Peter Arnett ripped the Bush administration on Iraqi state TV yesterday - while praising the enemy regime for its treatment of journalists.
"Clearly, the American war planners misjudged the determination of the Iraqi forces," the veteran reporter said.

Victory
Quagmire, they say
Like Vietnam
Our side has failed
The war's a bomb
Pure desperation
Lying spin
Shows how they hate
To see us win
Truth is we're winning
As it's never been done
All of our foes
Are on the run
They've bloodied our nose
Once or twice
But we have them all
In a fatal vice
We own the skies
Above their head
If they move a muscle
They're surely dead
We can hit them
At twice their range
While on the move
We can engage
We mourn our dead
Our losses bite
But historically
Casualties are light
They torture those
Who can't defend
For that they'll hang
On that depend
All of those
Not on our side
Will soon be crushed
Nowhere to hide

The question I posted to Arnett:
Why should you not be tried and shot for despicable, treacherous, treasonist seditionist behavior, for aiding and abetting the enemy and giving them moral support during a time of war. I did give my name, town, and email address.

He's definitely an enemy agent, but since he's not a US citizen, the charge of treason does not stick. On the other hand, there is no reason to let him enter the US again.

I think Arnett is a naturalized US citizen.

I think you're right. What I can't understand is why he wanted to become an American citizen, since he seems to have something against America.
At this point I'm sure no one would mind if he never came back here. He definitely would not be missed.

I think Arnett is a naturalized US citizen. Fox News said that he was born in New Zealand, but is a US citizen. When Arnett was a reporter during the Vietnam War, he got married, to what I think was a Vietnamese woman. They got divorced. During Desert Storm, he was married again, I think to a Middle Eastern woman. Rush had the specifics on this during Desert Storm and was wondering if Arnett only gets married during wars and would again during the next war. I'm sure Rush will retell some of this later today when he covers Arnett's moronics on his show.

A U.S. passport would be revoked, just as John Walker's should have been. But isn't Arnett British? They will probably deal with him more harshly than we would....

just saw Arnette apologize, and he added he's been an American citizen for 25 years!

He's definitely an enemy agent, but since he's not a US citizen, On one of the cable shows last night they said that he was born in New Zealand, but a few years ago he became a US citizen. If so, that makes what he did Treason with a capital "T".

"just saw Arnette apologize, and he added he's been an American citizen for 25 years!"
I stand corrected. That's 25 years too long, though. And one more good reason for Congress to formally declare war in accordance with the constitution, so such behavior can be appropriately sanctioned through the courts.
