Please don't quote debka as a reliable source. They are a heaving windbag of hate and jihadist bs.

Debka looks like a good site. Any comments on it?
...from the non-Muslim crowd, of course.

As a rule the closer events reported are to Israel, the more accurate DEBKA is.

Most of what they post that turns out to be correct, or sorta correct they basically copy from other sites or newswires, or from watching CNN, BBC TV, etc. At times from somewhat obscure foreign newswires not read by FReepers. They then embellish it a bit, make it sound more exciting, and then claim they're "breaking" the story based on their inside information.
Then not-so-bright members of Free Republic brag about DEBKRAP not knowing that DEBKRAP just got the information from elsewhere (For example, Strategypage.com mentioned Kornet missles used against the M-1s a couple days before DEBKRAP did, and I believe other sources did too.)
Then there's stuff that's basically utter BS that DEBKRAP publishes. It's either simply made up, or they get it from sources that amuse themselves feeding BS to an amateurish outfit like DEBKRAP. And finally, they publish BS because no one at DEBKRAP actually knows anything about military subjects; they're prone to laughable basic factual errors and exaggerations (long list; claiming that Al Queda had Chinese small arms ammo means China controls Al Queda, that there were thousands of actual Chinese troops in Afghanistan, claiming the 101st Airborne was attacking with twice as many attack helicopters as the United States has in the entire Middle East, etc.)

Ahh, so Debka is capable of blatantly incorrect information.
Well, I've not intention of doing their footwork for them.
I guess FreepRs know well enough. I'll just wait for
freeper posts that have already been cleansed by FreepFire.

Debka proves often true, just not reliably true.
This story is not about rocket science, this is rocket sales. The antitank rocket system from Russia is in Iraq. Ergo, it was shipped from Russia, with someone's permission. That someone has to be very close to the top, or the top itself. A weapons system doesn't come in a shoebox. Someone has to pack it, export it, get paid for it, train the buyers how to use it and maintain it. Antitank Rocket sellers don't just aim to sell one, either. They will be looking for reat business.
The Russians were up to their eyeballs with Iraq in Desert Storm. No reason for them to be absent from this show. They are just doing normal, everyday military customer sales and service. In fact, I am willing to bet that Russians are holding down some big assignments within the Iraqi military.
