March 30, 2003 -- Where's the Ohio National Guard when you really need it? Seriously?
Hey, if a campus crank can wish for personal calamity to befall U.S. forces in Iraq, why not fantasize about a volley of Kent State-style militia musketry rattled off in his general direction?

As a statement of free speech, in my opinion, it would be interesting if DeGenova was tied to a metal cot and attached to battery clips in locations voted upon by U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq.
I think this could be a Fox production.

The Post has
cojones...
The Post has clarity. You can wade through a 500 word NYT editorial and not be sure of wtf they are trying to say except that Bush is Bad, Democrats are Good and the war will disproportionately impact Gay and Lesbian Iraqis.

Okay! How much is the pay-per-view? I'm in.

Columbia is supposedly the premier university for journalism. Is anyone surprised that our current crop of "journalists" are so slanted in their viewpoints?

Here are more of the idiot's words:
From NewsdayThe only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military, Nicholas De Genova, assistant professor of anthropology at Columbia University told the audience at Low Library on Wednesday.
If we really (believe) that this war is criminal ... then we have to believe in the victory of the Iraqi people and the defeat of the U.S. war machine.
At least two speakers who followed De Genova distanced themselves from his comments. One of them was teach-in organizer Eric Foner, a history professor, who disagreed with De Genovas assertion that Americans who called themselves patriots also were white supremacists.
From a pro-Palestinian rally last April: "The heritage of the victims of the Holocaust belongs to the Palestinian people. The state of Israel has no claim to the heritage of the Holocaust," claimed Professor of Latino Studies Nicholas De Genova.

The Post has cojones...Yea, but Columbia doesn't. I'm betting that his fellow --get this, straight off the Columbia site -- "Latina/o Studies" profs, who are just as leftist as he is but not such fools, turn him down for tenure. I'll try to remember to check every year or so to see how it plays.

Free speech is not protected as to yelling "Fire!!" in a crowded movie theatre when there is no fire, yet it is protected as to advocating the death of millions of Americans??? What is going on here? This is not protected free speech, this is treason. Pure and simple. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
To: Pharmboy
Remember the school shootings at the University of Arizona and the law school in Virginia...could you imagine the outrage if someone like General Tommy Franks said that he wanted to see those repeated a million times?

If this prick is untenured, then maybe a strong enough reaction can make him unemployed. He shouldn't be able to get a job teaching quilting at the local community center.

To: Pharmboy
Wonder if this the same jerk or one of his friends that insulted Neil Cavuto
To: Pharmboy
Even Senator "Joe" McCarthy [circa 1954] may have had a good idea. Even if he did get carried
away with it. But his hunt for communists was not all bad. It certainly brought the spotlight upon those
who would harm the United States. We most definitely harbor enemies of the USA right here today.
One only has to visit any university. especially a journalism department. When I watch The news
media twist and turn the facts of the Iraq war, I can't help but wonder why so many give credence to
a story from Baghdad, but characterize anything from our side as negative. I spent 4 years in the
Marine Corps 63-67 during the vietnam war. These nay sayers are the same ones that kept us from
continuing on to victory when we had the advantage. The lack of support here in the USA cost
thousands of lives in that war. It prevented the bombing of the north, when it would have ended the
war. The same hollywood idiots and punk students you see today were there then. They never served
a day in the defense of our nation, but knew more than all the generals. Now I'm 58 years old and still
bitter about being spat upon and called "baby killer" by people who would be speaking German and
Japanese right now if it hadn't been for others willing to pay the ultimate price in W.W.II. Of course
we got a big thank you from France this year for pulling their ungrateful butts out of the flames for the
2nd time.
Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to seek out our enemies where ever they maybe and shine some
light on them. If nothing else maybe it would force them back under the rocks they crawled out from
under.
