UPDATE 03/28 -Support Our Troops Rally, Stuart, FL Anyone who was there will tell you this was an explosive outpouring of pent-up emotions by Americans- both demonstrators and drive-by traffic- from all over our region- some up from Miami and down from Melbourne who joined in a dramatic show of support for our troops and allies. No question the rally created a spirit of community where folks felt free to express their heartfelt patriotism- the likes of which I've not experienced since WWII. More than 200 demonstrators in Support of Our Troops spanned out on the East side of the Roosevelt Bridge with a great display of homemade signs, flags, pariotic T-shirts and Stuart and county Fire and Rescue and police joined in a spontaneous drive-by show of support. TV helicoptors got a great arial view of the crowd, spanning out on the bridge and next Friday we expect to reach out beyond its center and eventually reach the other end. I haven't seen any of the TV coverage but I noticed there was NO mention of our rally in Saturday's Palm Beach Post or The Stuart News however I'll hold off further comment about this to see if they print anything Sunday. I'm just starting to download pictures you can email the troops in the 03_28 Rally- Gallery 1. click on image below. There are four more galleries of pics coming from our Friday rally.

Fair assumption- in that it wasn't in either of our newspapers today and although we are a small town- an estimated 90% of our population is still unaware that we have a rally every Friday so figure couldn't hurt to promote it- course there's the extreme risk that someone might get the message twice.
