Richard Sambrook, the BBC's director of news, went before the cameras after widespread inaccurate reports of events in the war zone by the print and electronic media.

"Nobody, including the media, has the full picture of what's going on," he said.

The embeds give a real-life bird's-eye view of the front lines. Usually they are at odds with the media-back-home's impatience and spin. They do more than just pass on rumors. Please.

JSOWs over the Republican Guard.

Useful terminology.

JSOW = GPS guided female pig

JDAM = GPS guided female horse

Potential bias is what the BBC is famous for. They would make excellent soldiers: they adopt a position and defend it with all the weapons at their disposal. They never waver in their search for the truth of their convictions. The other side is just "the enemy" though they do make a few token gestures in its honour, only in order to destroy more of the world order.

If I had to nominate one body that assisted the UN in adopting its biassed tinge, I would choose the BBC.
