If accurate this report is indeed encouraging.

On the basis of the "teaser" I hastened in to caution that some of these guys, by this time are probably practiced at telling folks what they want to hear. But I noted near the end, that these guys might of actually been wading through reporters to make their surrender, i.e. their stories seem completely unsolicited or "developed" by/via interrogation.

If they are being told they have a choice between getting shot or committing suicide while killing the forces who are trying to liberate their families, why are they choosing the latter? Either way they die, but at least if they refuse to do it, they'd be dying for the liberation of their people and not taking other lives with them.
