Could anything be more racist than his comments.
When will he face a firing squad??
"Eric Foner, a history professor and organizer of the teach-in, told Newsday Thursday that De Genova's remarks were "idiotic" and said that the other speakers offered intelligent and thoughtful arguments against the Iraqi war."
What? They all spoke against the war? Where's the teaching in that?! *sigh*
In some cases one can be tenured even as an "Assistant Professor", but I certainly hope Columbia University does whatever necessary to remove this "academic" from their ranks...the "process" will likely take a long time, regardless of DeGenova's status, but any person wishing "personally for a million Mogadishus" is not a person fit to influence anyone, much less children, even if they're "college-aged children".
Free speech is one thing, and precious, but this man's conduct as a professor is completely unethical, not to mention that as a "civilian", his wishes for the deaths of American and allied troops are abhorrent.

There's still plenty of time for this one to recieve his just comeuppance, mr.
...I presume Mr. DeGenova's not yet tenured?
MIDI - SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST -- scroll down to the second set of songs
There are so few who pass the test
They are the best of all the best
They are called Rangers, strong and proud
And each one stands above the crowd
For those who survived the training
They were set to do what they were told
They were the warriors who were so well prepared
There's none more fierce and bold
To Mogadishu they would go
There was a Black Hawk down they know
Outnumbered one hundred to one
That's when the terror had begun
By greater forces they're outgunned
The U.N. had screwed up, they were stunned
They got into a firefight
They fought 12 hours day and night
For those who survived the training
They were set to do what they were told
They were the warriors who were so well prepared
There were none more fierce and bold
All their requests civilians thwart
They needed armor for support
Eighteen had died, no armor came
Clinton's the one who is to blame
(slight musical interlude)
"Surrender's" no Ranger word
(slight musical interlude)
Eighteen brave heroes died 'cause no armor came
And Bill Clinton is to blame
There are so few who pass the test
They were the best of all the best
They gave their lives to do their part
They are remembered in our heart
They are remembered in...our heart
Yes, in our heart
