Don't worry about unzipping, shoot through your jacket. I have two different jackets that have slits in the pocket line that allow me to reach an inside holster. Ask a seamstress to do a little sewing for you.

"Don't worry about unzipping, shoot through your jacket."

Careful. That'd better be a hammerless (shrouded) revolver! If it has a hammer, or if it is a semi-auto pistol, you might get off a shot, but the action will be jammed by fabric for the rest of your shots. You may as well carry a single-shot.

(And try to limit this practice to jackets made of natural fibers like wool or cotton. You don't want to end up in flames as untreated nylon or polyester catches fire from the muzzle blast. It may hamper your follow up accuracy.)

That's the idea. I just have to get a .38, .357 or 9MM that will fit in the jacket pocket first. Like I said, it will beat a .45 in a holster that I can't get at.

I've been using IDPA matches to experiment with a faster way of concealed draws. I even found that the thickness of the material in the cover garment is important. I had one case where I kept getting hung up in the shirt and I found that I didn't have the shirt starched like I usually do.

I know a guy who works for 7-11 in their offices that has a self designed shoulder holster that he uses under a white dress shirt and tie. The only thing out of the ordinary is he doesn't fasten the center button on the shirt. I have tried to see the imprint of the gun under the shirt and can't see it. Amazing.
